Fire Active

Passive Fire
Passive fire protection is a vital support area we manage for clients. This is often enclosed above suspended ceilings or within cavities and knowing where the passive fire protection installation is placed, is not always obvious.
As the industry has seen changes in legislation more recently, and with a desire by property owners to ensure compliance and safety, more scrutiny and responsibility is required. This will ensure that works are completed competently by contractors. Wherever the containment of fire may be compromised, such as cabling, pipework, and changes to the internal layout of the building, breaches in fire-resisting construction could take place in your building.
It is the Fire Risk assessor’s responsibility to check that your passive fire protection products and other fire safety measures are compliant and intact.
Over the lifespan of any building, alterations, potential changes of use, updating, and expansion are often likely to alter the existing fabric of the building. Regular assessments are essential elements of the fire safety measures under the Regulatory Reform Fire Safety Order and are needed to maintain the fire safety status.
