Challenges and Solutions

The scope of works involved the removal and disposal of a significant number of wall and roof cladding, which included stripping asbestos sheets, and installing new roof and wall composite sheets externally as well as an internal liner cladding to ensure a clean environment was established. Further works included the installation of electric roller shutters and pedestrian doors. The painting the steel structure completed this part of the works.

Starfish Construction also carried out significant additional works which included the installation of drainage channels and the development of concrete plinths and resin flooring. This part of the project also included the installation of fencing, crash bollards, plus upgrading the electrics, lighting & fire alarm system and the installation of an HV (High Voltage) & LV (Low Voltage) switchgear room.

Outcome

The ability of Starfish Construction to deliver large-scale multi-disciplined projects was instrumental in ensuring a successful outcome which met all key performance indicators — completed safely, on time, within budget and to the client’s satisfaction. As there was a time-critical element to the project, our ability to finish on time was key to a successful outcome.
