Congratulating Joe Fay on achieving his Association for Project Management Membership

At Starfish Construction, we firmly believe our people are the source of our organisational strength and value to customers. We're a collective, an array of talented people working to our shared values.

Additionally, we are a business that benefits from individuals focussed on continuous personal development. Joe Fay, Starfish Construction's Associate Director of Projects, recently demonstrated that culture and achieved the Association for Project Management membership. The organisation is the only chartered body for the project profession, with over 35,000 individual members and more than 450 organisations participating in their Corporate Partnership Programme.

As an educational charity, they are committed to promoting the value of project management to improve project outcomes for the benefit of society - certainly something that mirrors our approach as a business.

On the membership criteria and award, Joe Fay commented, "I'm delighted to become a full member of the Association for Project Managers. I had to choose ten competencies, five core and five optional and write a STAR (Situation, Task, Action, Result) synopsis on what I do or have done on each one. It required around 250 words for each, and including research took me around six months. It was a commitment, but certainly, one worth doing, and the work meant sacrificing a lot of weekends.”

John Jessimer, Starfish Construction Managing Director, added, "I would like to congratulate Joe on his award and the dedication toward the learning and development required to achieve the membership. The award raises Joe's industry knowledge and provides access to an abundance of resources from the Association for Project Management, which is of great benefit within our organisation and for customers alike."

Joe Fay added, "I had a desire to do this as part of my Continuous Personal Development and expand my professional abilities. Previously, I had achieved my MCIOB and MIOR and adding the Association of Project Management Membership to these felt like the next natural progression for me."

"Although this is a personal achievement, I hope that it leads other colleagues to develop their professional qualifications within the industry. It takes commitment and time, but increasing knowledge and stature pay off."
