A previous client, who we delivered a cladding project for, asked us to support a flat roof refurbishment. The property in question, with a floor space exceeding 5,000 m2, provides space for a wide variety of businesses varying from a gym to a music studio, and a logistics company to a call centre. Challenges and Solutions

Main project challenges included delivering a cost-effective and sustainable solution for the future. With our guidance, the client has benefitted from a 25-year single point warranty - covering materials, design and labour. Also, our final project costs realised savings of at least 50% against the original budget proposals.

Additional to these, we were working to a stringent 14-week completion with the requirement of completing, with minimal disruption, while allowing a wide variety of tenants to remain operational.

Outcome

There have been several positives for the client working with Starfish Construction Group, on this project and previous occasions. In particular, our budget management and cost savings provided strong future asset value for the client. From a safety perspective, our provision of roof access with a free-standing handrail system and a robust non-slip finish has added further value and protection.

For tenants, the individual properties now also benefit from better temperature-controlled environments throughout the year.
