Exploring Starfish Construction’s Strategic Development Plan

As a responsible 'Supplier' within the Construction Industry, Starfish Construction Ltd is committed to producing and publishing an Annual Strategic Development Plan that defines our Strategic Goals, Aims and Objectives in relation to our activities.

Our Plan also encompasses key operational areas such as Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental. Part of the Plan includes a review process that compares our actual performance against our pre-determined goals, aims and objectives. When producing the Annual Plan, we consider and focus on the previous year's indicators. Where reasonably practicable and appropriate, we will adjust performance levels in line with industry, company and client' demands.

Throughout this process, we always intend to support the continual improvement program of Starfish Construction and align with similar plans and programs produced and implemented by the Health and Safety Executive, Building regulations, industry regulators, and our clients.

The Strategic Development Plan is reviewed monthly at a pre-arranged Management Meeting. Corrective actions, including adjustment of the Plan, are implemented as the financial year progresses. As well as considering previous performance levels, we also incorporate changes in legislation, industry practice and the economic climate.

"Throughout the years, we have placed significant focus on recruiting and developing the best available talent. Each employee is helped and encouraged to develop their own Personal Development Plan to equip them with the necessary skillsets for career progression opportunities within the ever-expanding Starfish Construction Group of companies."
John Jessimer, Managing Director, Starfish Construction.

The financial year 2022/2023 brought many successful outcomes for Starfish Construction, which encouraged me that although there have been many challenges globally and within the construction sector, Starfish Construction is in great shape. We are a robust, financially stable, well-resourced, and soundly structured organisation driven by the success attained in the implementation of our previous Strategic Development Plans.

I'm even more encouraged by the opportunities and developments at Starfish Construction for the 2023/2024 financial year, including an impressive order book, with projects stretching up to 5-year periods, a realistic forecast for an increased annual turnover and further development of our geographical operational hubs throughout the UK, including our new office in London City.

By being a trusted supply partner of choice to our customers, we are also gaining momentum within our industry as an employer of choice. Throughout the years, we have placed significant focus on recruiting and developing the best available talent. Each employee is helped and encouraged to develop their own Personal Development Plan to equip them with the necessary skillsets for career progression opportunities within the ever expanding Starfish Construction Group of companies.

Our approach is two-fold, creating a collaborative and supportive work environment and excellent company culture, with the delivery of employee resources, including the launch of our new Employee Learning and Development Hub, through to our structure for employee salary packages, good working conditions, health and safety and opportunities for continued progression into senior levels of employment within the company.

Every year, we base our Strategic Development Plan around our customers, employees, and supplier partner network. It's fantastic to hear feedback from all of these audiences that our approach, project delivery and relationships are effective. However, we have always been a company to challenge what is working and, if possible, improve further - and we'll never change that attitude or approach. For us, it's the only way to create a successful business that develops opportunities for everyone.

On behalf of myself and the Starfish Construction Team, we look forward to our continued working relationship and appreciate your support. We will regularly assess the Strategic Development Plan, focusing on this financial year and looking ahead to 2024/2025.

Exciting times are ahead.

Best Regards

John Jessimer
